Fawcett Report

News from John Fawcett

Everything is going well here in England.  Sister Lowry continues to struggle with her cancer treatments.  She is a trooper and gets to the temple in between treatments.  President Lowry goes with her to Birmingham for the treatments.  President Lowry's two counselors due a great job of picking up the slack, but it has to be a strain trying to meet the demands of the presidency along with the debilitating effects of the cancer and the treatments.  I don't know how much longer they can keep doing this.

Bill McBride was also here at the London Temple prior to returning to the States, but I didn't know anything about it until President Lowry told me after he had gone.  I felt rather cheated that I didn't get a chance to greet him.

I invited myself to a testimony meeting fireside here at the temple for the Limerick saints a few weeks ago.  It was delightful to meet with them.  What used to be the Cork district is now called the Limerick district.  They said the Limerick ward has the second highest sacrament meeting attendance in all of Ireland.  There were zero members in Limerick when I was there in 1964-1965.  Afterwards, President Murphy invited Bonnie and I to speak in sacrament meeting when we get over in March.
