LAST CHANCE TO SUBMIT COVEY EXPERIENCE
We have received some great responses to our request for
your experiences with President and Sister Covey. We plan to read some of them
at the reunion. They are funny, spiritual and some that fall in-between. Please
send us send yours! In the near future we will either provide them as an e-book
or a printed book depending on the cost.
Distribution of the video tribute to President Covey, for
you to view, is pending the approval and blessing of Sister Covey. It will be
either be on a private password accessible website or DVD. Maybe both. We hope
to have this issue resolved in time for the reunion.
MISSIONARY NEWS
John Fawcett has been appointed the Assistant Temple
Recorder at the London Temple. He is serving under President and Sister Raymond
Lowry, Temple President and Matron. John and his wife signed up for another two
years at the London Temple. He lives in one of the apartments created in the
Manor House for temple missionaries.
Our love and condolence goes out to the Robert Larsen
family. Elder Larsen’s wife, Susan passed away recently from a brain tumor. The
Larsen’s had been serving their second mission together when the tumor was
discovered.
FINANCIAL HELP NEEDED
We received two emails recently from Bishop Tom McElhinney
of the Londonderry Ward. They have two missionaries in the field with a 3rd
and 4th ready to go this coming year and have requested our help. One
of the main goals given to us by President Covey is that we, The Shamrock
Society, continue our support of missionaries from Ireland. Over the years we
have helped support about 100 missionaries called from Ireland. At one time we were
supporting eight at once. We appreciate all of the support received from you.
We have contributed over $100,000 to missionaries called
from Ireland. In addition we have sent $10,000 to the Ireland Dublin Mission
and Dublin Stake to purchase a complete copy of the 1901 Irish Census. Although
we included all the missionaries that served in Ireland, our “Mission of
Destiny” contributed 95% of the funds sent to the Ireland Dublin Mission.
Please let us know how you feel about supporting these four
missionaries. We need your support financially to offer them our support. Let’s
not let them down.
